Confidential Development Partner
Riverworks is a confidential applied research affiliate supporting both internal development and select external partners — bridging the distance between a promising concept and a defensible, manufacturable result.
Our ApproachWho We Are
Riverworks functions as a lean, embedded R&D engine. We work where conventional development paths stall — in the space between concept validation, formulation science, materials testing, and regulatory readiness. Our work is confidential by default and disclosed only on terms we control.
Projects span medical materials, wound care biology, antimicrobial chemistry, and novel substrate engineering — with manufacturing translation as the final discipline, not an afterthought.
Polymer systems, hydrogels, open-cell foams, zeolite coatings, antimicrobial substrates, laminations, composites, and adhesives — lab-scale through pilot production. Transitioned to ETC Innovation for full production.
Provisional and utility patent strategy, freedom-to-operate analysis, and white-space identification across adjacent competitive landscapes, including international. Over 20 issued patents with a strong creative flair.
FDA regulatory pathway scoping, 510(k) predicate mapping, and documentation frameworks for Class I and Class II devices. Antimicrobials are a specialty.
Select engagements with external innovators whose work aligns with core material and market competencies. Terms are project-specific. Equity positions are encouraged.
Recent Work
Project details are provided under NDA. Summaries below reflect scope only.
Internal · Hemostasis & Surgical
Electrospinning process development for bioresorbable filament architectures incorporating a proprietary clotting chemistry. Targeting accelerated hemostasis in surgical applications with controlled absorption profiles and a clean regulatory story.
Internal · Wound Care Materials
Formulation and scale-up of hydrophilic polyurethane foam substrates with custom colorant systems and a tailored additive package. Developed as a performance-differentiated base material for next-generation wound dressing architectures.
Internal · Superabsorbent Films
Extrusion-coating process development for superabsorbent polymer integration into flexible film substrates. Enables high-absorbency wound dressing formats with a thin, conformable profile and strong fluid-lock performance under compression.
Internal · Adhesive Systems
Reformulation and process optimization of soft-skin silicone adhesive systems for wound and device contact. Focused on meaningful reduction in production cost while maintaining gentleness profile, skin-safety data, and compatibility with existing regulatory pathways.
